Efforts such as the Decentralized Arts Funding Program and an unprecedented grass roots movement in the communities have resulted in explosive growth in every discipline of the Arts in Northeast Louisiana. Projects, arts organizations, arts councils, and partnerships continue to flourish throughout the regions. It is only appropriate that the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council's main tool of communication with its various publics reflects that growth. |
In 1982, the first issue of Artsnews, a four-page newsletter, was circulated to the NLAC's members and to the general public. As the Arts Council grew, so did the publication, endeavoring to inform and educate patrons of the Arts. The present format of Art in Action, made its debut with the Fall 1996 issue and continues to reflect the growth of the scope and influence of the Arts not only in our region, but in the state and nation.
